Cancer Nurse Coordinator, Gynaecological Cancer, WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network
Pauline Tanner has worked in oncology for 25 years, in the areas of radiation oncology, chemotherapy and gynaecologic surgery.
In her specialist gynae-oncology role with the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network, she works across service providers in a patient centred service. This role is 50 per cent strategic and 50 per cent clinical with the remit to improve outcomes for cancer patients. Aspects of the role include providing information on and explaining diagnosis and treatment, liaising and linking with other services both within the treating hospital and the wider community, assisting and supporting women through the health care system, and initiating research and other projects to improve services and outcomes for cancer patients and their families.
