Paula Benson, Chair

Paula joined the board of Ovarian Cancer Australia in 2007 and was elected chair in 2010.
Paula is a leading non-executive director and corporate affairs professional with almost twenty years’ experience in financial services, media, resources, infrastructure and the education sector. She is currently a Director of the Victorian Funds Management Corporation and a Trustee of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust. She has held senior roles in business and the media including: Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs at National Australia Bank; General Manager, Corporate Responsibility at National Australia Bank; General Manager Corporate Affairs at Alcoa of Australia; Manager Public Affairs at RMIT University; and Producer at A Current Affair, Channel 9.
Paula is also a former Director of the Port of Melbourne Corporation, the Royal Women’s Hospital Foundation and Regional Arts Victoria.
Paula is an ovarian cancer survivor. She was diagnosed in 2003 and underwent a radical hysterectomy at age 34. She feel very fortunate that her cancer was caught early and she is able to use her skills and experience to make a contribution to Ovarian Cancer Australia.
