These events provide participants access to the specialised knowledge of ovarian cancer industry experts in the form of presentations and a question and answer session. OCA would like to invite you and your family and friends to a free ovarian cancer community event.

The forum will provide you with an opportunity to connect with others affected by ovarian cancer and share your experiences while accessing up to date information presented by key health professionals with expertise in ovarian cancer.

Join us to connect with others and hear about the topics that matter to you including:

  • Emotional impact of ovarian cancer – presented by Dr Carly Fay
    Carly’s special interests is working with people who have been diagnosed with cancer and those supporting and caring for someone with cancer. She understands the difficulties and distress that a cancer diagnosis can cause – the huge upheaval, changes and uncertainty for everyone involved. Carly is passionate about helping people to adjust, cope and get the best support possible.
  • Sexuality & body image – presented by Janine Porter Steele
    Janine is a clinical nurse consultant, an accredited breast care nurse, women’s health nurse and manager of Choices. She has a Master’s degree in nursing leadership and is a PhD student at Queensland University of Technology examining sexuality concerns and management strategies for women after a diagnosis of cancer.
  • Supporting carers – Social worker, Anne Hardy
    Anne will discuss how we can support those who support us.

    Ganescan is trained as a Medical Oncologist (Cancer Specialist) and has a practice located in Bedford Park.
  • Maintaining hope & Supporting carers – presented by Dr Charlotte Tottman
    Charlotte will discuss how we can support those who support us.
