Ovarian Cancer Australia understands that outcomes for those with ovarian cancer will only match the improvements seen in other diseases such as prostate and breast cancers, if we can secure substantial investment in research, and sector wide collaboration. 

Therefore, instead of taking a direct fundraising approach for research, Ovarian Cancer Australia regularly engages with Government to highlight the need to prioritise rarer, low survival cancers like ovarian cancer. These advocacy efforts and relationships result in the substantial investments desperately needed such as $16 million dollars of Federal Government finding in 2020 to fast track 8 ovarian cancer research projects that align with the 2020-2025 National Action Plan.
