Teal Ribbon Giving Day raises $1 million for women living with ovarian cancer.
Ovarian Cancer Australia is grateful to everyone including 2,416 donors who supported our second Teal Ribbon Giving Day. The day raised a record $1, 018, 693 to help fund the Ovarian Cancer Australia Helpline and dedicated ovarian cancer nurses.
CEO of Ovarian Cancer Australia Jane Hill said the team were grateful to all involved on the day and that the funds raise will make an enormous difference to the work we do and the women we support.
"The team at Ovarian Cancer Australia is extremely grateful to everyone who donated to Teal Ribbon Giving Day. We cannot thank you enough for your support. We also thank our matching donors for your commitment. Without your support and generosity we would not have achieved this fantastic result. Thank you to all our volunteers who worked tirelessly on the phones throughout the day. Your help is greatly appreciated.
The money raised will ensure that our specialist ovarian cancer nurses can continue to provide personalised advice, referral and emotional and psychological support nationwide for all women living with ovarian cancer and their families,” she said.
Over the last year, during the COVID-19 pandemic, calls to our Helpline doubled. Every day, our dedicated ovarian cancer nurses support those affected by ovarian cancer who have questions or need reassurance.
Teal Ribbon Giving Day was attended by the Victorian Minister for Health, the Honourable Martin Foley, one of Ovarian Cancer Australia’s founders, Grace Lee and Chloe Spitalnic, who shared her story.
